Privacy Policy

The short version

We take your pages, turn them into text, hand them back, and delete the request content when its retention period ends.

• No account, name, or sign-up is required.
• Unpaid request content is scheduled for automatic deletion after 24 hours; paid request content is scheduled for automatic deletion after 7 days.
• We do not use your documents to train models, advertise to you, or sell your data.
• Stripe handles card payment details; they do not pass through Textward.

Who we are

Textward LLC operates the transcription service at textward.app and is responsible for the information described in this policy. Contact us at hello@textward.app.

What we collect

We collect the document images you upload and the text and files we produce from them. When you select pages from a PDF, only the selected pages are converted and sent for transcription; the original PDF remains on your device.

Stripe may collect an email address during checkout for a receipt and recovery link. We keep payment records such as the amount, currency, Stripe identifiers, and date as required for tax and accounting. We also keep limited technical logs for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.

• A strictly necessary cookie that proves the browser started the request.
• Basic technical records such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and errors.
• No card numbers, advertising profile, or third-party tracking profile.

Why we use it

We use uploaded pages only to produce and deliver your transcription. We use checkout email only for a receipt and a temporary recovery link. We use payment records for payment processing, refunds, and legal obligations, and technical logs to operate and protect the service.

How long we keep it

Deletion of uploaded pages, transcripts, previews, and generated files is scheduled automatically after the retention period ends. Payment records outlive request content because tax and accounting obligations require transaction records after the related documents have been deleted.

• Unpaid request content: 24 hours from upload.
• Paid request content: 7 days from payment.
• Checkout email: retained with the payment record.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Technical logs: up to 90 days.

Providers

Amazon Web Services hosts the service, stores files in the United States, runs transcription through Amazon Bedrock, and sends recovery email through Amazon SES. Under AWS service terms, Bedrock does not use inputs to train models. Stripe processes payments and is an independent controller for the payment data it collects.

How we protect information

Information travels over encrypted connections and files are encrypted at rest in storage that blocks public access. A request is available only to the browser that created it or through a temporary recovery link. No system is perfectly secure, but holding documents only for a short, fixed period limits exposure.

Your choices

You can delete a request from the page where you started it while it still exists. You may also contact hello@textward.app to ask what we hold or to request deletion of information that we are not legally required to retain.

Children and international use

Textward is not intended for children under 13. The service operates and stores information in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when the policy changes. Material changes will be noted on the site and will not apply retroactively to documents that have already been deleted. Questions, requests, or complaints can be sent to hello@textward.app.
