How it works

1. Scan or upload

Start with a clear photograph or a scanned document.

2. We read it

Looped handwriting, faded print, narrow newspaper columns. We turn the page into usable text.

3. Take it away

Download it as text, a searchable PDF, a Word file or Markdown — usually within a minute or two.

What we read

Every kind of page, tidy or not

Typed reports, printed book pages and newspaper columns come back near-perfect. Diaries, ledgers and letters in cursive are the harder job — and the one we built this for. If a person can read it, we have a good go at it.

Letters, diaries and postcards
A stapled stack of typewritten recipe pages, the top one headed Mrs. Elsie's Lemon Chiffon Cake.
Recipe cards, ledgers and registers
A stack of yellowed newspapers, the top one an issue of The Morning Gazette carrying family obituary columns.

Questions

The things people ask first

Is my document private?

Yes. Your uploads are sent over an encrypted connection, used only to produce your text, and deleted automatically after 24 hours. We never sell them, publish them, or use them to train anything.

How accurate is it?

Printed and typed pages — books, reports, newspaper columns — come back very close to perfect, and so does neat cursive from a clear photo or scan. Cramped, faded or ambiguous handwriting may require later editing by the user.

Do I need an account?

No. Drop your pages in, pay for the work you want, and download the result. A single job does not require an account.

What does it cost?

Jobs use one-time pricing with a $1.99 minimum order. The exact total is on screen before you pay, and there is no subscription.

Can I use my phone camera?

Yes. Camera access depends on your phone and browser; JPG, PNG and WebP photos can also be uploaded from your device. Automatic cropping, straightening and shadow removal are not currently available.

Which files can I send?

JPG, PNG and WebP images or PDF files. Jobs support up to 25 pages total; images can be up to 20 MB each and PDFs up to 100 MB. Clear, readable images matter more than file size. HEIC files are not supported.

What if the result isn’t usable?

If a transcription is not usable, write to us within 30 days and we will refund it. No form to fill in.

Ready when you are.

One page or twenty-five, from your phone or your desk. No account, no subscription — you pay for the pages you send and nothing else.
